The Ring Hardwired Kit requires an existing junction box and may be mounted on a wall or ceiling. It is compatible with Ring USB-C input cameras only. You can also convert the battery-operated device to be a plug-in using the Ring Indoor/Outdoor Power Adapter (USB-C). You also have the option to share one or more Ring devices with as many shared users as you like. Access to particular cameras can be granted or taken away by the owner.   • QuestionCan it be hard wired to power

    • Answer The camera can be hard wired, 120V AC adaptor has to be rated at least 2A to 3A for newer models, the output is a USBC cable, it can be plugged in the back of the camera (a small rubber cap needs to be lifted)

  • QuestionCan i safely turn this camera off/on and it still be ready to go when i turn it back on? or will i have to re-configure it each time i turn it back on? I plan on only turning it on when i leave the house.

    • Answer Yes, I have taken the camera down and charged the battery and reinstalled it without any problems. I do, however feel that there should be a better and more convenient way to take the camera out, recharge the battery and reinstall it.

  • QuestionSo, i plan on using the camera in my home when i'm not home. My question is, can i keep it powered off till i'm ready to use it, if i turn it on, will it be all set to go right away? or do i need to configure it every time i power it on?

    • Answer All my cameras are battery operated and I use them all outside. All you have to do is make sure the camera battery is fully charged. I can sit inside my home and check all my cameras to see what’s going on outside from my iPad. I love every one of them and I have several. Hope this helps.

    • Answer Hi AJ. Thank you for reaching out to us with your question. The Ring Outdoor Cam Plus comes with one Ring Rechargeable Battery Pack. The micro USB charging cable should be used to charge to removable rechargeable battery pack that is included with your device. Follow these steps to charge the battery pack for your device: Open the battery compartment: Remove the security screw first. Twist the battery cover counter-clockwise to unlock it, then remove it from your Ring Outdoor Cam Plus. Remove the battery: Press the metal release tab to unlock the battery and slide it out. Charge the battery: Connect the charging cable to the battery's charging port. While charging, your battery displays two colored lights, a solid green and an amber light. Charge the battery until only the green light remains lit. Reinsert the battery: Slide the fully-charged battery back into the Ring Outdoor Cam Plus until it clicks in place. Close the battery compartment: Twist the battery cover clockwise to lock it. Make sure to replace the security screw. Wait for the device to power back on: It can take up to 60 seconds. To charge the battery for your Ring Outdoor Cam Plus, Battery, remove the Quick Release Battery Pack from the device and connect it to a common micro-USB cable, such as the orange one included in your Ring box. Simply plug it into any USB power source. Having a second battery is optional, but it allows you to swap batteries instantly so your camera stays online while the first one is charging. Rest assured this is normal for Ring devices. To remedy this, we recommend using an anti-fog product on the lens to prevent it from reappearing. While there's not a particular product we can recommend, some of our neighbors have found success using Rain-X products which should help with the condensation you're receiving from the cold weather.     • Answer it will record the porch pirates or any one that came in the camera detection zone, you may consider subscribe to the basic plan for the camera and get access to the archive of videos. One thing to consider is the thieves can rip the camera off but they (should) are already be recorded as soon as they approach and the video will be stored cloud base, then it's up to the police to get them.
