Hello Karen, Good question! Installing your Ring Spotlight Camera Battery is intended to be a simple, do it yourself, process. Spotlight Cam comes with a mounting plate that, depending on its orientation, allows you to mount it on a wall or under an overhang. To mount a Spotlight Cam on a wall, insert the mounting plate with the ball socket pointing down. To mount on an overhang, insert the mounting plate with the ball socket pointing up. It's important when selecting a location to remember that Spotlight Cam is designed to be placed at an optimum height of nine feet with the motion detector parallel to the ground. This will put the motion sensor in a perfect position to detect human-sized objects at up to 30 feet. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you can mount this and use it, then you should not have any issues. I have done it before. There would be a damage to the walls such as drilled holes and possible mounted area. No way to avoid that. You need to patch the holes and paint.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. With mine I jus used two small screws that came with them. They plug into an outlet. Or if you don’t have an outlet nearby (like me) I used the solar panels they sell for these. They are both great items
