I’m a professional, so I would recommend installing an outdoor (covered) outlet or having one installed. Obviously you don’t want to make it easy for someone to unplug. And having long extension cords is never a good idea. That being said, the camera does not use much current at all, so a light duty cord will suffice until you install an outlet.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The cord on the hardwire camera is pretty long. More importantly the outlet should be high enough so that the camera cannot be easily unplug. I placed camera on patio cover and power plug is under my second floor window. It would be hard to cut power to camera unless you have a real tall letter! Lol!
