Hello Mindbender, Good question! Yes the camera can be mounted to a soffit. Be aware, however, that wherever you mount the Stick-up Cam Elite, you will have to run an Ethernet cable to that location. Also, the PoE Adapter is not weatherproof and should not be used outdoors Your first consideration when choosing where to place your Stick Up Cam is how you're going to power it. Your Stick Up Cam Elite comes with a new feature called Power Over Ethernet (PoE) that allows your camera to draw power from its Ethernet connection. This will give you considerably more freedom when it comes to positioning up your camera, but means you will have to run an Ethernet cable to wherever you've decided to set up the camera, if you use the PoE feature.
