Mine is battery powered. I have it located behind my steel security screen door because I was having problems with a teenager banging my door.. once I put it up, problem solved.. he saw the camera and stopped bothering me. I do not have it wired to my doorbell wires, just battery powered. Battery lasts for quite awhile. Even with watching it live view literally for days on end, the battery lasted over a week. I bought an extra and have it on the charger so when it gets low, I switch it out so I always have it active. LOVE IT!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I installed mine in the middle of my front door with no wires, is strictly battery powered. Batteries last a crazy amount of time but they do take several hours to charge to begin with. Mine took almost 12 hours to fully charge from new.
