It comes with one battery and you recharge it with a USB cable.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It uses 1 battery pack. Mine has been installed for just under a month, and I would estimate that it has used 10% - I would say that the life before recharge is around 8-10 months. The arm is about 6inches.

You charge it with the cable that comes with the battery and plug it into an electrical outlet that works with a USB. The arm only extends a few inches. I highly recommend if you don't want to have to replace the battery and are using this outside that you consider one of the solar panels that works like a champ! It's a real PIA if you've got this mounted under an eave having to get a ladder to reach the battery. I also suggest buying an extra battery that you can keep charged if you don't go the solar panel route.
