If exsisting doorbell is intercom system ring cannot be wired to it.

Is existing doorbell with intercom? Ring will not work wired to intercom doorbell system.

you should go back to where you purchased it and ask them, usually you will need to use a diode, also there is an extra option if your door chime is digital vs analog
