QuestionWhat must the distance be, between doorbell to person at door? Concerned I have a very narrow porch& anyone ringing doorbell would just block camera and only thing displayed would be their clothing. Doorbell is to the side of the door, does not face out.

- Answer The camera is a wide angle. Unless they leaning against it it should be ok. I have two and one is installed similar to your situation and works fine.

QuestionDo you need to have Wi-Fi/ internet at the location of the doorbell?

- Answer The Ring doorbell does connect to WiFi. So you first connect it to WiFI and test operation and then you mount it outside your front door. As long as you have a strong WiFI signal at the front door, Ring doorbell will operate normally.

QuestionSince this is a wireless Ring Video doorbell, then I will have to be sure my wifi signal is strong whether I hardwire it or whether I wire it. Right?

- Answer Yes, a good Wi-Fi signal is required. Hardwiring only allows the battery to stay charged so that it won't need to be taken out/swapped out to be recharged.

QuestionI have purchased this item and I want to install it but I have a better modem coming but not for another week or so because they have to install it. My question is how hard is it to change wifi pin numbers or should I just wait until I get the new modem

- Answer Yes, you could install it now and change the wifi password on the Ring device after your new router is install. Open the Ring app and choose your doorbell, after picking your doorbell go to Device Health, from that screen you will be able to see where it says Change Wifi, and then just follow the same steps as you did when you first install it.

- Answer Hi PIX2PICK, Great question. Yes, you can absolutely monitor your Ring app from multiple phones. Users are added to the system by invitation of an Owner. In order to extend an invitation to become a user, you will have to know their email address. Once the Owner has sent an invitation, the new User will receive an email telling him or her how to verify themselves and gain access to the system. - Answer Not sure about the number as sure as speed, however, I can tell you that you will need more than than average household. I had issues receiving notifications until I upgraded to a faster speed.

- Answer The original Ring is now $99 so the price difference is even greater. But the Ring 2 is much faster, better video quality, and has a replaceable battery. Totally worth the price difference. Our original Ring worked so slow that the UPS guy would be back in his truck before my phone app rang. And the built in battery in the original Ring is bad after only 2 years.

- Answer There are two little screws on the back of the doorbell which connect to your little voltage chime inside. You don’t have to connect them because it still makes the sound but it will use your existing doorbell sound if you wanted to. This thing is very easy to wire, it only took me five minutes and I’ve got to Lehmans understanding of it. Very goodbye and love it

- Answer As long as your wifi is working, it'll record. If your WiFi goes down, it won't record.

- Answer The Ring 2 will work with the Ring Chime or Chime Pro ( Pro includes WiFi extender,). Two of my friends use it with the Chime since the do not have available doorbell wiring in their homes. You can install two Ring doorbells in your house. They will both show up in the app. Just make sure you don’t choose the Ring Doorbell Pro, as it only has a hardwire install option, which won’t work if you don’t have existing doorbell wiring.

- Answer I guess your doorbell gets very little use. You can install this on the outside without wires, but, you will have to charge the battery somehow. I would try to extend the wiring from your doorbell to the outside of the door frame. The AC voltage from your doorbell circuit will keep the battery charged.

- Answer Not difficult at all. Because there is the optional battery back up you don’t even have to install it with power. If you do choose to hook it up where your old door bell was the wires are low voltage and safe to handle.

- Answer No you can't you would have to set up the device,you may be able to go to ring.com and purchase a gift card so that gift recipient can use it to further purchase an extended subscription

- Answer No you don't, all you need is your smart phone. When someone rongs the doorbell it automatically makes a door bell tone on your phone and u just click on it to open it.

QuestionCan you mute the existing indoor chime?

- Answer There isn't really an inside chime. The chime sounds on your phone or whatever device you have the app installed on. However, if you have the doorbell also hard wired to your existing physical doorbell (the one that came with your house), then the chime will continue to ring. To disable that, you would need to disconnect the wiring to your chime.

- Answer The short answer is yes but... you can wire it to the existing wiring but it always uses the battery. The power coming from the existing wiring trickle charges the battery. Note that the battery power is consumed faster than it is charged.
