• Hi Me. Thank you for your question today! No, you don't need a subscription to use this Ring Video Doorbell 3. Ring does offer the Ring Home Plans which add extra features to the Ring products. While subscribed to one of our Ring Home Plans, you will have access to videos of every motion and live view event. Without this service, you will still receive real-time video alerts on your smartphone and have access to the live view feature. • Yes and no. After the 30day trial period you will need to purchase a plan to continue to with some recording & video features you gotten to appreciate. Otherwise you do not but you will be encouraged.
