Hi grady. Thank you for your question today! The Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Generation) can run on battery or be hardwired. It comes with a Quick Release Battery Pack included, allowing it to operate completely wirelessly without any wiring required. You can also hardwire the device to an existing doorbell system or transformer with 8–24 VAC, 40 VA max, and 50/60 Hz for continuous charging.
