“When it says built in rechargeable battery, does that mean I can’t take the battery out and charge it or do I have to take the whole doorbell off and charge it.?”

• You cannot remove the battery. You must remove the whole unit unless you buy the available cord to plug it in, then it would be "always on"

• Yes you have to take the safety screws up at the bottom and take it off and charge the battery and put it back on
