“Motion detection range ? I replaced a gen1 ring pro with this device. With the old ring pro I got alerts of vehicles passing at about 50 or more feet. With this ring pro 4k gen 3, I get nothing past the middle of my yard.”

Same boat here! I will not be able to change my other camera because it will allow me to see farther into the sidewalk, street, as I like to see what is going by and the occasional thief. I am hoping they can do a software update and allow longer range. It can pick up the LARGE Trash trucks....but I need to see the cars and people like I used to.

Ring devices can detect motion up to 30 feet with the Motion Sensitivity slider at the maximum level. If you turn Motion Sensitivity down, this range will be lower, decreasing false motion. If your device is missing motion, increase the Motion Sensitivity using the slider. Here are a few tips to optimize the motion settings on your device: 1. Change the position of your Ring device: Adjust the position of your camera to improve the accuracy of motion detection. 2. Turn on Smart Alerts: You can enable Smart Alerts on your doorbell or camera to improve motion accuracy in detecting people and other objects, including packages. To turn on Smart Alerts, tap the Motion Settings tile on the device’s page in the Ring app. 3. Adjust or disable Bird’s Eye Zones: On select devices, you can set up Bird's Eye Zones for more precise motion detection and more relevant Motion Alerts up to 30 feet from your doorbell or camera.
