• I don't listen to books, but one can assume it will function the same with playing music. If it's in any part of the track, my iphone pauses the music then allows me to take the call. When I hang up the call it resumes the song right where it left off. Hope this helps.

• Can’t say I’ve listened to an audiobook while driving but I listen to music and the phone does ring. I also usually have an Apple Watch so everything goes off lol
