No. If you want your blu ray and sound bar to play at the same time you need to either use an optical cable from the tv to the sound bar and plug the blu ray into the tv via hdmi cord. Or if your sound bar has hdmi ports you can hook up the hdmi out to the tv, then plug your cable box and blu ray player into the sound bar and simply change the input on the sound bar as to what you want to watch cable or blu ray and the sound and video will work.

It could possibly work if you had it between the Blu Ray and the TV and soundbar. That's the only way this might work for you.
