“Dolby Digital pass through I am using a splitter to split signal from by fios settop box. One cable goes to my Denon 4520 AVR and the other goes directly to my LG led (42LS5700). I have a cable that goes from my AVR to the TV as well. When using the splitter I get sound but will not pass DD through to AVR. If I connect cable directly from my set top box to AVR I get DD (not using the splitter). Opinions on how to resolve?”

I would run everything through the Denon only, with only one HDMI cable going to the TV. To watch TV through the cable box just select the cable input, you don't have to power the Denon on, just use it as a switch. The Denon needs to be in stand-by mode and not completely off. Look in the Denon users manual to find this. Works fine for my AVR which is a Yamaha but that fact doesn't matter.

One thing to check is to ensure that your FiOS is sending out the DD signal. As long as it is, then the other thing to try is disconnecting everything from the power. Disconnecting the HDMI cables.
