• I have exact same set up and issue and you can't hook it up with a splitter. You have to have a SWITCHBOX. Look at best buy sku#2947005

• We had the same problem with this item. After many frustrating days we finally found the cuprit! The usb power supply in the package is too small. It's rated at 0.2w. That's not enough to run anything! Best Buy and its parent company have been apprised of the problem. You need to get a usb power supply that is at least 0.5w.
