“Hoping to use to connect tv to both Cox box and new Roku I am using an older sony tv with only one hdmi (kdl-46s2000). I am hoping to hook up both the scientific Atlanta explorer 8240-HDC from cox cable and a new ROKU-3. I bought the Rocketfish 2-way HDMI Splitter and set it up. Right now, I have a roku-1 hooked up but for some reason it only works when it is hooked up with BOTH the hdmi and the av cables. When I remove either connection, the tv doesn't see the ROKU-1. I just received the ROKU-3 as a gift and want to use it instead (it has earbuds). I tried to connect it using only the hdmi and my tv doesn't see it. the Roku-3 doesn't have slots for the av cables.”

This is an HDMI splitter. It takes 1 input and sends the signal to 2 outputs. You want the RF-G1185. It allows multiple inputs into a signle HDMI port on your TV.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would think that you need a switch and not a splitter. A switch is just that, you could use one or the other so the signal would not be split or less of a full signal. I'd give that a try, if it doesn't work, just return the splitter
