If you have not found a satisfactory answer that provides the simplest solution, you may want to install an HDMI Matrix Switch. It will enable you to pipe numerous sources to numerous televisions simultaneously and switch from one source to another at each television. This way you need only buy one DVD player and then you can pipe it through to both sets as well - without additional wiring. The only thing is that you will need to run two cat6 wires to transmit the signal to each of the televisions form a central location where all of the source devices are located. Additionally, many of the HDMI Matrix Switches include the ability to repeat the infrared signal back to the particular device that is being viewed. Unfortunately, this means having another remote for you to keep track of - the Matrix remote (although the switches at the TV also include buttons to select your source), but you may also get a programmable remote.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The RF-G1182 uses the EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) for the display connected to Output 1. This means that in order for the display connected in Output 2 to function the TV in Output 1 must be turned on. Make sure you unplug the TVs, splitter, and cable box when connecting the HDMI cables. Once everything is connected correctly and the devices have been without power for 30 seconds, plug the cable box in, once the box is booted up plug the splitter in, and finally plug both TVs in.
