“2way splitter not consistently passing audio to both TVs I recently purchased the Rocketfish 2way HDMI splitter in order to send one video signal to two different TVs simultaneously. My set up (pre splitter): DirectTV HD DVR and Sony Blu Ray player both connected to Yamaha AVR via HDMI cables into assigned inputs on AVR. HDMI output to LG LED TV in Living room delivers digital video to the TV, audio routed to 5.1 speaker setup via the AVR. I purchased a Vizio LED for use on my patio, on the exterior side of the same wall on which the LG TV hangs. HDMI had already been run to that exterior location. Intent was always to watch the same thing on both TVs. Purchased the Splitter and connected as follows per the instructions: power connected to surge protector; HDMI from DirectTV box disconnected from AVR and connected to "Input" on splitter; output 1 connected to Cable TV input on AVR (previously that input had received HDMI from DVR); output 2 was connected to patio TV's HDMI. Everything worked great! Got audio and video to the new TV outside as well as the one inside, even got the same audio to separate outdoor speakers using Zone 2 feature on AVR. Then, someone wanted to watch a movie on the blu ray player. I realized this connection scheme would not work with that device since it was not at all connected to the splitter; could have replicated the DVR connection setup but I wanted to re route the cables so that I wouldn't need to fuss with them any time this situation came up. My solution: route video output from AVR through splitter to both TVs leaving both source devices (DVR and BR connected directly to AVR inputs as follows: I plugged DVR HDMI back into the AVR DVR input, left BR HDMI connected to AVR, connected an HDMI from the AVR video output to the splitter input (previously connected at the other end to the LG tv), connected the LG to the splitter output 1, exterior TV to splitter output 2. Audio and video worked fine inside but I was getting video only on the patio ( and no audio on my patio Zone 2 speakers). This was true weather I used the DVR or BR player as the source. Any thoughts on why no audio outside with this setup? The Zone 2 audio prob is particularly suspicious since that setup bypasses the switch altogether. Thanks”
