• No I don’t believe that a USB port detects when a device if fully charged and yes they draw a charge even when there is no device plugged in

• No this provides surge protection only as far as I can telll Haven’t seen smart switch. Don’t see how it could communicate with say I Phone. Seems like it could know when there was no draw. Great idea
