“Does splitter degrade the internet speed? I get my internet (25mb) through my TV cable network. The G1179 decreases the internet speed (down to 2mb) when splitting the cable between my modem and a cable ready TV. Is this typical?”

• Do not place the amplifier between the cable modem and your tv.

• A splitter will tend to degrade the signal a bit, but usually not this drastically.
