• Yes, I attached it right before the cable box, also after a 100ft+ cable run. It eliminated all of my pixelated pictures, and all channels show up very clearly. I live in Manhattan, where there are lots of long runs with old coax cables...

• Yes, this can be connected before the cable box. The shorter cable going into the input with the long cable to the TV connected to the output.
