• Not if you use banana plugs. BestBuy sells the best banana plugs I have used. easy to install and they grip the wire very well. Rocketfish 24k gold plated toolless speaker banana plugs.

• Yes but one side is clear coating other side has black lines instead of red /white

• Depends on what you're connecting the speaker wire to. I did not have to peel back off the plastic coating, because I was using banana plugs to run the speaker cable to each end point.
