• as long as the outside end is in a weather proof box and it can fix through the hole in the side of your home that brings the cable into the house. Of course it depends on how far apart the two are.

• In theory, yes. However, it wasn't compatible with my network provider (Verizon). They want their own modems and coaxial for a good connection.
