“On the backside it has the 3 prongs, then below it has one plastic knob sticking out. if I use the top outlet for the prongs the plastic knob would go into the bottom outlet ground spot??? Do all units have this plastic knob also with the 3 prongs?”

• The one on the bottom helps to keep the unit stable in the power source. Ours works great. It goes in the bottom outlet. The prong is on all units of this type.

• I believe that it does go into the ground slot. It provides stability to the unit.

• The surge protector uses only one outlet. The bottom plastic tab is there for support, I am assuming for the weight if all outlets are used.
