No battery, cannot be charged, needs a standard plug in.

You would have to invest in a voltage adapter in your car because the unit runs off a 5volt power supply. But if you do that any power surge could possibly damage the unit or cause a fire. Your call..and neither BestBuy, Rocketfish or any of its affiliates reccomend using the unit in this fashion, nor do they accept or imply any warranty or responsibility if you choose to use the said unit in this manner.
