A:Answer In my experience, the volume controls are separate, as you might expect.
The volume of the signal sent to the receiver is controlled by the media player on my tablet or phone, and the volume of the receiver is controlled with its own remote control.
Most Android devices also contain an IR blaster, so you could control the receiver from Android as well, but that's still two separate volume controls.
