We've noticed from putting up two TV's on the wall, that we shouldn't mount the bracket directly in the center of the wall. The one in our living room is off center and now the one in our bedroom is centered. We didn't want to go thru the trouble of moving the one in the living room due to it being mounted on the fireplace.

Of course this no longer lined up with the studs and was just in the dry wall. Home Depot sells dry wall mounting studs that are rated to hold up to 100 pounds in normal dry wall (was less than $5 for a package of two). Used these drywall anchors and it worked perfectly. The down side is you must be VERY careful to NOT put extra force on the wall anchors when adjusting the swivel now (you don't realize how much force you are adding to the weight of the TV when you start pushing or pulling on the TV to move it around). You must loosen up all the set screws while someone supports the TV and then move it to where you want it and retighten. You also assume all risk if it does pull out of the dry wall since the instructions tell you very clearly you MUST mount into a stud. Mine's been mounted into the drywall alone for two months now with no issues.

If you put it where it is because of a stud you can always use heavy duty drywall screws and they would hold the TV if it is less than 50 pounds. Try adjusting the hex screws in the rear of the mount they allow a lot of motion.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. How do you mean it's not centered? The only other way is to center it, is to physically drill holes in your wall to move/mount your TV.
