No it will not give you that much spread. (About 18” max) Some solutions would be to put a wood backer behind the television. A couple of pieces of 1” X 6’s cut about 30” long. Center mount across on your studs,...then painted the same color as your wall. Or a piece of 3/4” plywood again painted. Bu doing this, you could actually then use toggle bolts for the tv mount bracket as the wood or plywood with toggle bolts would not allow the tv to pull through. And of course you would secure the wood/plywood directly to your wall studs. And with almost all televisions, the wood would be hidden by the television. (Painting also helps with this)
