GottaKnow, Please be advised that answers thus far are incorrect. For the NEMA 5 receptacles, this product is firstly a power distrubtion unit (PDU) and secondly a surge protector/suppressor. It is not a backup power supply. If there is inadequate voltage/current from the line, this product does not boost.
