The design of this mount requires that sufficient friction be present between the back of your tv and the mount. This also means that a lot of pressure needs to exist between the two. Not sure about you but I wouldn't risk damaging the tv. I found it much easier to just mount the sound bar to the wall with a couple of wood screws and (usually included with the bar) mounting hardware.
