“We just installed this using the stud mount option and the TV sits on the wall mount very wobbly. Pulled it back off to make sure everything was tight then rehung it and it is still very wobbly. Roughly 3/16" gap between wall mount and the TV mount.”

I would first remove the TV unit and check the wall bolts for stability. The wall frame may be thin or the existing holes need to be re-plastered, dried properly. Then, it my enhance the TV if additional plywood back is secured in the area and then the hinge bracket is re-bolted for use.
