“Can this be mounted to a stand instead of on the wall? We have a sturdy stand that held an old plasma, (about 150 lbs), which I am hoping to reuse, if possible. Current screws are 16 inches apart in all 4 directions with some variability.”

I surely would use it on my stand. Tons of screw holes.

Yes this mount has slide holes that allow it to mount with different widths and hights.

Geek Squas was able to install 65" on old stand. Since the old tv weighed about 5 times as much, I don't think it had any issues. This mount did work with my stand, but if the screws are less than 15 inches apart it won't work

I believe so as long as the stand is sturdy and secured so that it cannot fall on a child or anyone else.

I don't see why not. My 65inch. TV is only 57lbs.
