“Is this compatible with Samsung Tab 2 7.0? The battery indicater has a Red X which it did not have with original charger before it broke. Is this a problem? And should I return it?”

it has a standard USB port plug. It charges extremely fast and so I would check with your manufacture's recommendations to make sure that one doesn't overcharge It charges my Kindle Fire HD 4 times faster and can charge it from nothing while one plays it. I put my Samsung cell phone on it and it charged almost too fast. My husband cautioned me that doing that may damage my phone. It charges at 10.5 watts.
