You're completely locked into using their proprietary xg mobile hardware. Haven't seen anywhere that someone has home-brewed a way to use other external GPU setups.

Sadly as of right now its only x4. If your looking to get the xgmobile get the amd or the 3080. 4090 is overkill.

It is a proprietary connector but uses PCIe 3.0 x8. Can't use it for non-Asus products and its not upgradeable. The USB-C port that is part of the XG Mobile port is USB 3.2 Gen2.
