It is a year from purchase. Contact ASUS and ask them how to get a year. Or Contact bestbuy and demand you get a year warranty from them.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Lie might be a strong word. If the previous owner registered the product before returning it though I doubt anyone at Best Buy would know that. You can try to contact Asus directly and provide Proof of Purchase. This works most of the time.
