According to the asus website it supports 4k 60hz. I'm assuming it would also support 1440p 120hz. I can confirm that you don't even need the dock, if your display supports usb c then you can just plug it straight to your display. I did this with a 1080p portable monitor, it powered the monitor and sent the display signal with just a usb c cable.

You can absolutely plug a monitor directly into the Ally using USB-C to C, HDMI, DP, but you won't be able to charge your device at the same time without a dock.
