I have an older Roku TV with an optical output. I have it hooked up to the tv streamer for my hearing aids and it works fine. Both the hearing aids and the speakers function at the same time, but there is a slight lag between the two and it sounds like I'm in an echo chamber. There may be some adjustments you can make to the audio to eliminate that but I usually just turn off the bluetooth.
