Yes, I did exactly that with mine. You can buy a cable with a 3.5mm headphone jack at one end and two RCA male connectors at the other, and connect the TV's headphone output to your stereo receiver or amplifier. Note that this will mute the TV speakers, so you will need to turn on your stereo in order to hear any sound. If you still want to be able to hear the TV's speakers, then you can buy a digital to analog audio converter, and connect it the the TV's digital optical audio output with a Toslink cable.
