• I use mine on a wi-fi internet connection - and have no issues. My other Roku unit is the same way - no cable connections or antennas. Antennas would be your only snags for basement apartments - and then only if the antenna wasn't near a window. if you are on cable/router or wi-fi your reception will be fine.

• Hello Gigi, this all depends on the connection you mean, WiFi would depend on where the router is located and if you're referring to antenna reception than bein gin a basement could affect the reception but there are ways to make it work.
