Please try again later.if your goal is to control sound through tv remote and have it play through your stereo for the best sound quality it would be best with hdmi arc cable. Ihave a soundbar and sub from my old tv that doesnt have an hdmi....I know that sucks but trying to only spend money on needs and i can live with my soundbar. Optical from my sound bar cannot be controlled by remote. I had a monster cable 3.5mm (headphone jack on both ends) 1 end to tv and 1 to soundbar. i hit power on soundbar volume max then control sound level from there with the remote. Sounds great! Also.....just fyi, the remote has a headphone jack so you can plug in and sound only comes out of headphones. Great if you have a reader in the fam or kids doing himework but yoy still want to watch tv!
