QLED, sometimes referred to as Quantum Dot Technology, is a method of increasing the color gamut of the TV which results in more vivid and saturated colors than you would find on a traditional LED television. QLEDs still use a backlight to illuminate each pixel. A separate technology called local dimming lights only certain zones of the TV at a time based on the picture signal. This helps increase the contrast of the TV so blacks look blacker and bright areas pop. OLED is a different type of display technology which does not required a backlight. Each pixel can be turned on and off separately. This allows the TVs to be thinner, but also (often) lower brightness and more expensive than comparable backlit TVs
