Hi, moinco! The Simple remote included with the Roku Express is IR only. However, Roku offers streaming players with the Roku Voice remote. A Roku voice remote connects over a wireless network and does not need to be pointed directly at your Roku player when pressing buttons. This allows you to install your Roku player behind a wall-mounted TV or another nearby, out-of-sight location. The following Roku streaming players include a Voice remote; Express 4K+, Streaming Stick+ Headphone Edition, Streaming Stick 4K, Streaming Stick 4K+, Ultra, Streambar and Streambar Pro.
