“Is this complete system or do I need cables and wires and modems to make this work?? If it's complete, does it "install" like a DVD player, or media player??? The only reason I'm interested is because all of a sudden, my blue ray player isn't compatible.”

You'll only need a high speed internet connection in place for this device to work. This already comes with an HDMI cable, power cord and remote. You'll only need to plug it in, turn it on, connect to the internet and update the firmware if need be then you can start downloading channels to stream music, movies and shows.
