No credit card information is required but you may have to create an account name with certain channels. I've used the Roku to stream many channels and have not had to give out my credit card info. I will say I am very happy with my Roku purchase. It was easy to set up and the quality of the streaming is excellent on my LG 4K TV. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There are lots of channels that are free, the cost is for the channels that cost you money such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, Acorn, CBS Now, etc. They ask for cards in case you should order something. This is not a deal breaker because you can use PayPal. You never have to put your number in again once the account is set up.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I've had Roku now for several years. When I originally set up the account to register my device, there was a credit card entry spot on the form. I thought it was a requirement but afterwards I checked and was able to delete the card info, You only need to have a credit card entered if you want to purchase non-free apps. When doing so, Roku will let you know card info is required.
