I do believe this device uses infra red for sending the signal, so make sure your line of sight is clear from the controller to the unit itself, and make sure you don't have any crud on the tip of the remote where the signal would be coming from and on the unit where the receiver is. Other than that, I don't know what to tell you.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I bought 5 remotes about 2 years ago and I have very little trouble with them. Personally I believe Roku to be the Best on the market and I may have only replaced batteries in 1 or 2 remotes. I only wish roku would find a way to install channel numbers so that you could more quickly change channels. Good luck with your remote clean the lens on your remote and on the receiver. PS I did have a bad unit years ago and replaced it.
