• Roku streams channels very good. However. If you intend to airplay, get chromecast since you can activate live stream channels like NBC, Bravo, E channel. This is because phone apps are GPS enabled. Roku, fire stick are not GPS enabled and can only replay shows on NBC etc..

• the stick is a wifi device so if the iphone is set up as a hotspot it could work, itll use your data though, but guessing you know that if this is your plan.
