• This is how I've been using mine since January with no issues. Mine is powered by a USB port on my TV that turns off and on with the TV. If there's a problem with this, I've not encountered it

• I haven't noticed any problems but there will be a minute of lag time as the RoKu attempts to reconnect with your network and perform any firmware updates it needs.
