The Roku sticks plugs into your TV's HDMI port and uses a USB port to provide power. If you don't have USB port on TV Roku provides a power USB adapter.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Only wire to the stick is the power cord from the power supply which requires an AC outlet. Everything else from that point is Wi-Fi. This stick has more channels capability than Roku 2 or 3. One of the reason I decided to try it. If you got a strong to moderate Wi-Fi signal it should work like a champ.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The stick plugs into your television with a A/C plug that has 1 wire that connect to the Roku and plug in the wall socket. 1 wire with the Roku stick.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Both the Roku 2 and the Roku Streaming Stick use WiFi, so you don't have to plug them physically into your router. The stick plugs directly to an HDMI port on the back of the TV (so concealed) and then needs power (either via USB on TV or USB cord to an outlet with provided plug) so technically it would be one less wire since you would need a longer HDMI cable for the Roku 2. Both work equally as well, the Roku 2 may be a little faster connecting though. I have both and use a stick for the smaller TV in the bedroom and a Roku 2 on the main tv with entertainment center.
