Yes,it should work great. But you will need to use a Certified high speed HDMI cable to go from TV to Receiver and set the settings on your apps and the stick.

To get around this, plug the Roku directly into the stereo unit (I have an Onkyo) and use an ARC HDMI line from the stereo to the TV. Five or six-channel surround (including Atmos+ where available from source) goes directly through the stereo to your speakers while the video goes back through the ARC line to the TV. It sounds and looks great.
